INES is a web application which aims at gathering statistics from
production sites related to their energy consumption.
The objective is to collect and consolidate, based on an internationally
recognised methodology, an annual inventory of the industry's energy
consumption and GhG (Greenhouse Gases) emissions.
Data collection
INES corresponds to the need of the Industry
- INES uses the feedback from the Industry experience in environmental
data gathering
- INES integrates and improves the present data collection
system
The objective is to gather data throughout world-wide plants and
to lower the cost of data collection
Data verification
INES standardises and simplifies audit procedures,
lowering costs of data collection and verification
The objective is to develop and share a common methodology in-line
with the GhGprotocol.

Reporting
INES Corresponds to the requirements of the Stakeholders
and provides a direct and relevant access for regulators.
The user of INES will manage consolidated energy & environmental
information:
- per country (all materials, all companies)
- per plant/group
- per material (all companies, all countries)
All emissions are accounted for and reported under the "GhG
Protocol Initiative" framework led by the World Business Council
for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) and the World Resources Institute
(WRI) - www.ghgprotocol.org
INES provides external stakeholders with homogeneous,
consistent, comprehensive information.
Confidentiality management
Each company's data remains completely confidential
and cannot be accessed by any other.
The security architecture aims at offering a dual level of access
to companies.
1. Corporate access: site registration, consolidated data
2. Plant access: energy and environmental data collection
After confidentiality clearance by the organisation and its members,
aggregated results might be disclosed to external stakeholders (European
commission, Federal and national regulators, shareholders etc
)
Flexibility
INES can be adapted to the need of each users of
INES for internal purposes and to any kind of sectors.
