In order to make possible and feasible LCA studies, it is important to use efficient practices. These practices make the LCA practitioner save time and render reliable calculations and conclusions. These practices are to be put into practice for all the stages of the study.

• Precise the best possible way the goals of the study (thus the needs) in order to obtain the most concise scope.

• Settle the most relevant cut off rules regarding the purposes in order to limit data collection.

• Validate the collected data thanks to the available information, validate the data capture, validate the system construction, validate parameters.

• Re-use the already carried out works in order to limit the job: establish a long-term planning, make centralised modular database, update data.

• Use an adapted software tool to manage the database, build systems and make the calculations.

• Make a step-by-step interpretation, by validating one-by-one the conclusions by the way of the available tools.

• Release a complete report, integrating the whole assumptions, options and data, so that this one can be re-used in the future.
